Truth or Silence? Confronting Homosexual Activism in Schools
Dear Friend of the Family,
In Illinois, teachers threatened students with suspension and called the Day of Truth a “hazing” incident. A North Carolina school told a student he could not wear a Day of Truth shirt or hand out literature.
In some schools, opposing homosexuality is an “offense” deemed beyond the constitutional protections of free speech. This is just the sort of danger that I recently went to Kosovo to try to prevent.
The problem is the ongoing attempt of the homosexual movement, through various means, to conjure the public into accepting and validating their lifestyle. By laying guilt at the feet of good, moral people for not exercising virtues of justice, tolerance and individual rights the homosexual movement, with the help of the media, silences those who stand up for what is right - thereby promoting a lifestyle that weakens the family while indulging the individual.
In recognizing this deception, a national project established in 2005 by the Alliance Defense Fund called The Day of Truth counters the annual Day of Silence, which promotes the homosexual agenda in schools and allows students to express an opposing viewpoint. The Day of Truth is being observed around the country today.
The first Day of Silence started in 1996 when students at the University of Virginia organized in response to a class assignment on non-violent protests. The following year, organizers took their campaign national and today almost 100 colleges and universities recognize the day.
Today the homosexual movement has pushed its agenda into our middle and high schools. A high school student in Virginia said the Day of Silence was extended into a full week of hate crimes propaganda in her school.
For some schools, this message is akin to “hate speech.” Students participating peacefully in the Day of Truth have been singled out by teachers and administrators who exhibited viewpoint discrimination.
In attempting to create safe school environments, homosexual activists have succeeded in pressuring schools to demonstrate reverse discrimination against those with deeply-held religious beliefs and the belief that homosexual behavior is not something that should be validated and promoted.
Let us not be deceived and pressured into validating a lifestyle that is destructive to individuals and society. Until the Day of Truth observances began, it has largely been the opponents of the homosexual agenda who have been silenced. Make sure your voice is heard in defense of the family. Stand clear and firm for those values and morals that will not only strengthen the family—but bring peace to the world.Warmly,

Vermont Commission Takes No Stand on Same-Sex ‘Marriage’
After a months-long study on same-sex “marriage,” the Vermont Commission on Family Recognition and Protection released its report Monday and made no recommendations. The 11-member group had been established to review and evaluate Vermont’s laws relating to the recognition and protection of same-sex couples and the families they form. Critics said that all the commission members had previously endorsed same-sex “marriage,” calling its objectivity into question. Homosexual activist organizations claim the commission’s report lays the groundwork for future legislative approval of same-sex “marriage.” Vermont enacted a civil union law in 2000 — the first of its kind in the nation.
Taxpayer Tab for Family Breakdown: $112 Billion
A new study released last week declares that U.S. taxpayers shell out $112 billion annually on “family fragmentation” stemming from divorce and unwed childbearing. The study — “The Taxpayer Costs of Divorce and Unwed Childbearing: First-Ever Estimates for the Nation and All Fifty States” — was a collaborative effort by the Institute for American Values, Institute for Marriage and Public Policy, Georgia Family Council and Families Northwest.
Unmarried Mothers May View Abortion as Only Real Choice
A survey by Feminists for Life shows that unmarried women facing crisis pregnancies may see abortion as their only option. Feminists for Life surveyed pro-life college students in the United States to find out what information was made available by their colleges and universities. They found that women were either not aware of options or most felt like the circumstances of their pregnancies were forcing them to abort their pre-born children.
House Committee Hears Biased Report on Abstinence Education
The U.S. House of Representatives’ Oversight and Government Reform Committee deliberating on federal funding options for sexual education stacked the deck with anti-abstinence education witnesses Wednesday. Six of the seven witnesses testifying opposed abstinence education. Dr. Stan Weed, director of the Institute for Research and Evaluation, was the only person offering testimony on the efficacy of abstinence education. Dr. Weed pointed out that most studies demonstrate that abstinence education works better than comprehensive “safe-sex” education and its reliance on encouraging teens to be sexually active and use condoms. The committee is chaired by Henry Waxman (California, Democrat), a harsh critic of abstinence education.

The bible makes it clear that in the ‘end-times’ men’s hearts would wax cold, they would become lovers of selves; they would hate what is ‘right’.
Clearly, we are at ‘The End Of Times’!!!
Agreed. Never has that description been more accurate than with the spread of humanism as the state imposed religion of democratic cultures.
I am curious at to the proof of the following claims:
Illinois, teachers threatened students with suspension and called the Day of Truth a “hazing” incident. A North Carolina school told a student he could not wear a Day of Truth shirt or hand out literature.
In some schools, opposing homosexuality is an “offense” deemed beyond the constitutional protections of free speech. This is just the sort of danger that I recently went to Kosovo to try to prevent.
I would like to see more information regarding these claims.
